"Ambidextrous - Errorism" out now!
26/04/2001 - The second full length album released on Shaped Harmonics. The 72-min long CD includes 10 tracks composed and recorded between January 1999 and August 2000. Besiges previously unreleased tracks, "Errorism" includes the original, 12 minute long version of "6 million forms", an edited version of which appeared on "Squadron" compilation on Merck records.
The album artwork is done by Artarea group: cover photo taken by Vladimir Maximov, design done by Andrey Dyakov aka Stalker. The CD release on Shaped Harmonics will soon be followed by a MC-format rerelease on Cheburec Records (Saint Petersburg).

Ambidextrous and Grundik+Slava (an Israeli-American experimental / IDM duo) are working on a joint mini-album.
Grundik & Slava did a totally reworked versions of 'Antimatter' and 'Visotopia', Ambidextrous remixed G&S's '23' and 'klik kluk'. This release will also include several unmixed tracks by both artists.

December, 15th. Barmaley Club, Moscow.
Ambidextrous plays 60-minute techno-oriented set at a 'here.ru sound system' party.

 

December, 9th. Yubileiny stadium, Saint Petersburg.
Ambidextrous plays in St. Petersburg at 'DJ-Parade', a huge rave where Cheburec Records hosted one of the zones. Cheburec Zone featured acts by EU, Fizzarum, Tenzor, Klutch/Cabina, Ambidextrous, Novel 23 and Taiga.

October, 20th. Mix-Club, Moscow.
Double live act (2 x 35 minutes). The first part was mostly 'typical' Ambidextrous material, the second one featured improvised vocals by Tatiana.

Another release is in the pipeline. "Ambidextrous vs Novel 23: Cross Split EP" will be released in early 2001. The 12" will include 6 tracks: two by Ambidextrous, two by Novel 23 plus two remixes for each other: Novel 23's remix of Sinedance and Ambidextrous's mix of "The Gateway from Fairy-Tale"

Special DJ-set at EU's album presentation party: 20 minutes of brand new Ambidextrous's material.

July, 28th. Live act at "Kraj Cube": a 30-minute performance.

May, 15th. The first release outside Russia. Merck Records, an IDM label based in Miami, USA, put out "Squadron" compilation. The CD includes tracks by such musicians as Lackluster, Lexaunculpt, Fizzarum, Brothom States, Syndrone, Novel 23 and more. Ambidextrous is represented here by an edited version of "6 Million Forms". "Squadron" is a good introduction to the new wave of modern IDM all over the world.

"Croquet" appeared on "Expedition 2001: A Collection of Russian Electronic Music" CD on Insomnia Group label. This is an eclectic compilation of alternative / breakbeat / trip hop / IDM tracks by Virtual Mode, Thaivox, J Toonz, Spirals, Sobaki Tabaka etc.

March, 3rd. "Âûõîä â ãîðîä" ("Exit to the City") compilation released on Ceburec records (St. Petersburg). Includes "Antima" by Ambidextrous. Also festures tracks by Syntetika, EU, Taiga, Tenzor, NetSlov etc.

"Îñàäà" ("Siedge") techno compilation released on Citadel records. As announced before, it includes "Datum".

 

New full length album is almost finished. It will be called "Errorism", will be about 70 minutes long and will include 10 or 11 new IDM tracks plus a Novel 23's remix of 'sinedance'. No techno material will be included. As compared to "SoundEscape", "Errorism" is more beat-oriented (hip-hop structures dominate in most of the tracks). The melody is still there of course :)

"Datum" will appear on a techno compilation on Citadel Records. The compilation will be released as a mixed CD and unmixed cassette. It will come out before the end of the year and will also include tracks by SCSI-9, Introtom, Lazyfish and others.

September, 8th. Art-Tek Records presented the Artefacts compilation. The presentation took place at Lexx club and Ambidextrous played a 30-minute live act.

June, 25th. 2:50 - 3:40. Dj Kubikov Thursday night set. Ambidextrous played live for the listeners of Station 106.8 FM throughout the world via satellites and cables networks.

May, 23rd. Live act at mU anniversary celebration party (Novel 23 and T.A.N.D.E.M also played live that night).
